There are smaller towns you could investigate that will be more accepting of dogs in a rental. (Losing one or both of my own pets would be heartbreaking, and to me, Asheville isn't worth it.) Investigate Hendersonville, Etowah, Brevard, Arden, Fletcher, Fairview, Gerton Waynesville, etc. How much time have you spent in Asheville?
Thanks for your helpful response. I will take your suggestions as time gets closer. I've never been to Asheville, but have a friend living there. She raves about it. She says there is lots to do and that it is very beautiful.
