The Master Commissioner of the Jefferson County Circuit Court posts information about homes that have gone through the foreclosure process and are ready for sale at a judicial auction.
The Commissioner's Sale website is a simple, easy-to-use site that contains a calendar of upcoming sales, recent auction results, an auction search form, and an FAQ. Check out the sale calendar for a list of the current and previous year's sales dates. Each calendar gives you a list of the sale dates for each month (typically 2 per month) and dates on which the handbills and appraisal documents for each property will be available. Appraisals are available 18 days before the sale date and handbills are available 27 days before the sale date.
To find information about the sale of a specific property or set of properties in a specified zip code, use the auction search form. You can enter information into a single field, a combination of fields, or leave all fields blank to retrieve all properties for sale in the county. Search fields include: case no., plaintiff's name, defendant's name, property address, city, zip code, attorney's name, and sale date. After entering your search, you'll be forwarded to the search results page with gives brief information about each property (date of auction, house address, and amount to be raised) with an option to view more information by clicking on the 'view details' button. The details page lists all of the information found on the search form (case no., plaintiff's name, defendant's name, etc.) with links to handbills and appraisals if available.
