User submitted facts and corrections:

  • Did you know that Larkin Valley was named after Francis Larkin who made $$$ in the gold rush, bought the area now known as Larkin Valley from a Castro Land grant in the 1860's, then brought several nephews and a niece from Ireland to work the land and his holdings? No positive connection to Thomas Larkin but believe a distant connection. Most of the nephews had numerous children, most of whom moved to the SF area in the early 1900's. My father was born there in 1910, the son of one of the nephews brought over from Ireland. Would love to connect with other relatives in the area. added by glp
