  • Connell is the site of the Wa. St. Correctional Med./Min. Security Coyote Ridge facility. Current number of beds is about 600, with construction approved (in 2005) for 1200 more higher security beds in coming years. Coyote Ridge provides work crews in surrounding communities as part of the Work-Camp transition of lower level Offenders back into useful lives in the communities. Dept. of Corrections' focus is on safer communities, and is one of the major employers in this rural region.
