Arrington, who was elected county sheriff in 1882. Mobeetie: HISTORICAL BUILDINGS in Old Mobeetie, now a well-maintained park. A parking lot hosts a part-time population of RVs in the warmer months. Mobeetie: OLD MOBEETIE, the original townsite, began to decline when the post office and most of the town’s businesses moved two miles north in 1929 to meet the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway.
