  • Pecatonica is a real town with a 3 block long business district. It is a full service town with a hardware, pharmacy, 2 banks, 12 eateries, 6 taverns and 6 churches, etc. We are only 12 minutes from the Northwest corner of Rockford's new Wal-Mart, but only 2 stoplights! The larger City of Freeport is only 15 minutes away to the west, and the far east side of Rockford is only 20 minutes of 4 lane highway to get to the Cherryvale shopping mall. Pecatonica has historical architecture and a highly rated school system. It is where the hills start and the land takes on character. Homes are nice, but affordable, from the Victorian painted ladies downtown to 3 new subdivisions, including one with a lake and golf course. If you work in Rockford or Freeport, chances are you can get to work faster and with less traffic than driving through the city. .http://www.aeroinc.net/pecprop/608.jpg For more info on Pecatonica go to www.aeroinc.net/pecweb
