Sheridan: Workers cutting down the old water tower the morning of 1-10-08 Sheridan: Atop Pioneer Hill in Sheridan's Veterans Park stands the historic George Boxley log cabin originalliy built in 1828.  Boxley eventually settled in this Indiana community after escaping a Virginia jail, accused of fomenting a sabotaged slave rebellion in 1816. Sheridan: Sheridan's 1828 pioneer cabin built by Virginia abolitionist George Boxley was restored in 2007 by the Sheridan Historical Society, an historic landmark publicly dedicated in this rural Central Indiana community on Apr. 24, 2008.  Heritage is now a focus for town revitalization.
