Lincoln Elementary School in Minot, ND, was severely damaged in the Souris/Mouse River flooding in 2011. The flood water rose to where the trees begin their green coloring, and stayed at that level for weeks, making the building cost-prohibitive to repair. Robert Kaufmann/FEMA
