I was watching CNN this afternoon and the bottom line had three headlines (not verbatim, but you get the point)...
- Democrats prepare to revisit and discuss financial reform but GOP not ready
- Graham leaves the senate during environment reform
- GOP pushes to postpone immigration reform
Remind me again, why are these people elected? They are supposed to be out there, discussing and getting work done. All they seem to care about is elections. GOP realizes their opposition to at least two of the reforms above (financial and immigration) could hurt them in the elections. So, they're vying to ensure democrats don't succeed in passing it while there is plenty of time left for campaigning. Technically, on issue of both of these reforms, they are pandering to the simpletons.
