With that stroke of genius logic I could make a case that rape should be legal...because, after all...it's "personal rights". Obviously, that's hyperbole--the logic breaks down. Abortion is not just "personal rights"....someone dies every time it happens.

2- I'm sure that church would disqualify you as a Christian. As it is, it is politics within the religion that has gone on for as long as the religion itself (also true with Islam, BTW), and is killing it, one cell at a time.

You've kind of made my point--he was a member of a church that was more concerned about politics than the religion. I don't think he really cares about the religion.

3- What is your problem with it? Christians are expected to walk the path Christ practiced. Did Jesus go to a building to connect with God? Where did He go? And, no, he didn't trust "buildings" or "priests" unlike the Christians that want to define "Christianity" these days.

The idea of being a Christian but not wanting to be around other Christians is just silly. Read some of the New Testament---the church is to minister to the body and build each other up. We edify each other with fellowship.

Do you think Jefferson was a Christian? Unlikely.
"You say you are a Calvinist. I am not. I am of a sect by myself, as far as I know." - Thomas Jefferson, 1819

He very possibly was. I've heard a lot of quotes that suggest he was very active in his Christian faith.
I identify myself as a Calvinist...but salvation doesn't hang on whether you accept the 5 points of Calvinism or not.
