The Braves starters in 1998 produced 24.3 WAR
Maddux 7.6 WAR
Smoltz 5.3 WAR
Glavine 4.9 WAR
Millwood 3.4 WAR
Neagle 3.1 WAR

The Phillies' 4 starters in 2010 produced 22.2 WAR
Lee 7.1 WAR
Halladay 6.6 WAR
Oswalt 4.7 WAR
Hamels 3.8 WAR

Over the last 3 seasons these pitchers have averaged 22.2 WAR
Halladay 7.1 WAR
Lee 7.0 WAR
Hamels 4.0 WAR
Oswalt 3.7 WAR

Kyle Kendrick (who I'd guess will be the Phils 5th starter next season) had .7 WAR last season. If you add that to 22.2 WAR you get 22.9 WAR. A difference of 1.4 WAR over a season is pretty damn close.

Joe Blanton produced 1.9 WAR last season and 2.1, 2.0, 1.9 the last three. If you add 2.0 WAR to 22.2 WAR you get 24.2 WAR, virtually equal to the Braves staff.

The Phillies 2011 rotation is definitely in the discussion as the best rotation of all time.
