I have another "Jewel" type exceptionally nice town to add to my PERSONAL SELECTIONS list of distinctive places. I will be adding many more towns in the future.

COOPERSTOWN, NY 13326 - Pop. 2050
What a perfect idyllic scene that Cooperstown, Otsego Lake, and the surrounding countryside presents to visitors. You could think that you've entered into a Norman Rockwell's artwork; the American Flags flying, the Baseball theme throughout the village, the quintessential American small town Main Street setting, the well maintained traditional American homes and residential streets, the perfectly manicured parks, the happy couples and children and individual people strolling the tree shaded sidewalks, the boats sailing across the blue waters of Otsego Lake, the green rolling landscape of the countryside, gorgeous blue skies with fluffy white clouds. Your imagination tricks you into thinking that Cooperstown IS the "model town" that Norman Rockwell used as a "stage-setting" for his artworks. Add the museums, unique shops, great restaurants food and hotel accommodations and you imagine yourself in a perfect fantasy village. What a very special village that Cooperstown is to spend a weekend, a vacation, or to live there. To sum it up, there's the Baseball Hall of Fame, the shops/stores along several streets, the many eateries, strolling the sidewalks eating an ice cream cone or bag of popcorn, the Farmer's Museum, the Fenimore Art Museum, Glimmerglass Opera, Doubleday Baseball Field, the lake boat cruises, the parks for relaxing; what a wonderful enjoyable visit Cooperstown makes for a travel outing. Cooperstown is a resident and tourist type town. Syracuse is 94 miles west & 1 hr. 40 min. drive to Cooperstown. Utica is 41 miles northwest & 50 min. drive to Cooperstown. Albany is 71 miles east & 1 hr. 20 min. drive to Cooperstown.
