A hike up Sandia Mountain from the lower to the upper Tram terminal today. About 9 miles with an elevation gain of almost 4000 ft. Starts off on the Tramway Trail for 2.6 miles, then connects to the La Luz Trail for the remaining 6 or so miles.

Lower part of Tramway Trail, around 6700 ft.

On the lower part of La Luz Trail

Middle part of La Luz from Canyon La Cueva overlook at about 8800 ft.

Upper La Luz-- the trail traverses the talus slopes (my least favorite part!)

But the breeze gets cooler and the views are nice

A welcome sign, trail junction near the top... only a mile left to the tram

First view toward the south on the Tram spur trail

Made it to the end, 10,378 ft. ....took 4.5 hours and a very large bottle of water.
