I bet this guy files for bankruptcy within 10 years. That's the sad reality of many lottery winners. They are most often poor and not very good at managing money in the first place. Give them a couple of million dollars and they start giving it away to family and friends, blowing on ridiculous purchases, and buying multiple homes that they can initially afford the purchase price of but over the long run the taxes, maintenance, insurance, and upkeep taps them out. When I was younger a family down the street from us won $5 million in the NJ lottery. They still live in the same house (it's a lot nice/bigger now) and the father, a general contractor who used to be primarily on his own with one truck, occasional helpers, etc...now has a large design studio and does high end kitchen and bath remodeling. The paradox is that most people like him (ie: small business owners) see the lottery as a waste of money and don't play, while folks at the lower end of the spectrum play everyday and therefore win fairly often.
