"Current" look at the temps at 850mb. One sided tilt.. Asia to North America. That's been the theme this year and you don't change that on a fast pace. Upper flow take a lot of time and a massive amount of energy to shift patterns so I don't see Europe getting the vortex's..

Playing the future loop, the Polar vortex's just sit and spin and drop into Canada and U.S and Asia on & on and disappear as they try to loop towards Europe. Looks like fun times here January and February. We'll see.

BTW, that Blue blob is the Polar vortex -25°C. I rarely see the whites deep in the U.S let alone the blues. We'll see.
