I came back from Houston earlier today. I was really surprised and it was not what I was expecting. There is a lot of traffic and places are typically very crowded, especially around the Galleria. The people are extremely friendly and very hospitable. Southern Hospitality actually is a thing in Houston. For a huge mega city, people are small town friendly and very helpful. Also, very laid back too. Yes, it's a hectic city, but the people are so laid back, a lot more than in Phoenix and in Tucson. I had a lot of fun. The Galleria area and Downtown are the top 2 best areas to be in Houston. Sugar Land is also probably the nicest suburb there. Some areas looked sketchy, such as Greenspoint. But for the most part, it's a big metropolis with a big city feel. Services are much friendlier than here in AZ. Overall, I had a lot of fun in Houston. I hope to return again in the Fall with a friend. We both want to explore Houston and I want to continue exploring it. I have to say, out of every city I've visited, Houston people are the friendliest I've encountered hands down, even friendlier than in Lubbock and El Paso.
But I am happy I live in Arizona. It's less hectic here. I cannot imagine having to commute 2 hours a day to and from work.
