There are more threads about Tyler than about Midland/Odessa. It is coming but Lubbock sub-forum is coming first.
We prefer not to create sub-forums for larger geographical areas unless they are metro area.

Thanks for the Tyler sub-forum. But in the last year, there has been less threads. Tyler is not now growing as it was up thru 2008. Not much oil here, as is the boom for M/O. Few new jobs in Tyler, very little to no sales tax money or property tax money has been spent on job creation in the last 12 - 14 years. The medical field just carried Tyler's job growth until recently. Tyler perfers to keep the lowest city, repeat, city property tax rate in the state for any city over 15,000 pop. Therefore, no money goes to actual dollars per job created to companies looking to re-locate.
Again, most of the time, for cities like Waco, Wichta Falls, Longview and the like you have to offer pay $1,500 to $2,000 or more per job created. This Tyler will not do, so few jobs created. But the city is debt free, no bonds owed, the city only spends if there is money in the bank to spend. So thats not all bad, but someday, the tax rate will go up because there is little construction being added to the tax rolls.
Anyway, less talk now about Tyler than before. Few questions about relocation to Tyler or what's Tyler like type questions.

word!
that's why i asked why tyler has its own subforum when it doesnt seem to generate as much recent interest as midland does, considering the oil boom there.

I agree, It is most difficult I am trying to lookup information about your area.

Maybe they could add a "West Texas" subforum to include places like Abilene, Midland, Odessa and San Angelo ...
