Rainroosty: Me too. Maybe we're the last people on earth who feel this way.
PJ Singer: You da man...maybe. Thanks for the support.

As others have said, the person probably won't even notice. And if there is any negative public or private confabulation about the unfriending, it can be reported and quietly dealt with by Marka or Yac.

This is one of the things I really appreciate about City-Data; the conversation and environment are moderated (generally) to the extent needed to keep things on a polite, civil and reasonably mature level.

Had to qualify that statement a bit because of P & O.C., . I try to stay pretty far away from that place.

Hi, Macrina. I don't know what P & O.C. are. Psychology? I will have to look it up, but *thank you* for the referrals to Marka and Yac. I unbefriended the person last night. I only did this after looking up some posts this person made and found them argumentative in the extreme, argument for argument's sake. Frankly, I would like as few "friends" as possible, only the posters with whose writings I am very familiar and whom I have reason to respect.

P&OC is the CD quarantine forum for argumentative and offensive weirdness, Politics and Other Controversies.
http://www.city-data.com/forum/polit...controversies/
It is a good place for the sensitive and emotional to avoid, as it brings no value to the CD experience, other than segregating malcontents from more polite society.

It is kind of like a spam folder that you never have to look at, that fills up with porn and other junk.

I have a looser rein on "Friends." I typically friend anyone who asks. No harm done yet. I am sure my Friends list includes a broad cross-section of members, which is fine by me.
