Thought any new member was restricted to one message a day - posts or not. I get messages from brand new members who have never posted - most recent a few weeks ago.
There are some restrictions that apply for the first few days and the first few posts. I usually recommend people go find some threads and make 10 really insightful comments over the next 3 days and then see if the restrictions go away. Look in the forums about your local state or city, and look in forums about things that interest you (Food, TV, Parenting, Hobbies, etc.).
That's not as easy as it sounds. I've been here 7 years and I still haven't made 10 really insightful comments.
We asked a question about that a few weeks ago and never got a real answer.
We have 4000 but another member who have been a member for nearly two years only has 1000. Why the difference and what is the criteria?
I have 4000 but as far as I am concerned Marka could put me down to 20 if he wanted.. (I would not ever use that much database space, its not respectful to the admin)
I just joined and was trying to figure out why I couldn't direct message as well. Thanks for this thread
