There is one specific member who has been RUDE to everything I say from the day I arrived at C-D. Everything I say...it's, nonsense, or foolish or ridiculous in this person's viewpoint.

Then there are times when this person actually talks about me to other members right in the thread.

How is this behaviour tolerated by C-D. Is this all OK?

I have reported this person and some of the thread is deleted, but it continues.

I would continue to report the individual as appropriate...

From the Forum rules: http://www.city-data.com/forum/faq/9...rum-rules.html

Quote:
Stay on topic. Attempts to hi-jack threads by switching topics or going off topic will be deleted and infractions issued. This is not a chat room - when people hi-jack threads by posting messages that are of interest to only few people, the threads often stop being useful discussions of initial topics.

Hate speech, racism or bashing of ANY sort will NOT be tolerated. Rude posts will be removed and infractions issued. Do not quote or talk to trolls or your posts will also be deleted. Use the report feature instead.

You can also dm the senior mods (marka and yac), or add the poster to your ignore list.

Thanks I may go higher in the moderator area but so far figured, what would it do? I often just ignore this person and pass so much by but often he posts in my threads and others I reply to and I like to read what others offer. It's unbelievable this behavior ...actually this member attacks just about anyone who does NOT agree with him.

In my experience all these years with these people it's best to say nothing as eventually they will dig their own grave.

Their outbursts will focus on others and they will eventually get banned.

Just remember that nothing that anybody says here makes an iota of difference in our real lives. People have a wide range of opinions and beliefs that don't always fall in line with what we believe. Just because they express a thought doesn't make it true or absolute. It's much more manageable to brush these types of things off than try to regulate every grouchy, headstrong person who looks for ways to upset someone else. You control how you feel and react; it's much more difficult to control other people into behaving in a suitable way.

Oh I agree "who cares" and I even believe that about our own MD's. And I have some theories about this particular person and WHY this harrassment but certainly won't go further there.

Here too it becomes a gang up mentality.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having this experience. I like reading your posts. (my wife agrees). You do have support from a lot of members! I wish I had something more constructive to say. It's a fact that there are jerks in this world, and as Minervah posted, if you can put them in ignore that would be a good idea. Keep posting!
