As a long time member you probably already know that "bashing members" is a tricky one, too. Sometimes what you find offensive, other people don't, your mileage varies greatly.
Bowie was right - we disallow personal attacks against other members here. If someone calls you, Nomadicus, names - they will be punished. If they say that all the people living in your area suck, well, that's their opinion and they have the right to express it. Like it or not, the line has to be drawn somewhere.
Please, understand that we're trying hard to maintain some healthy balance between people's right to word their views and hurt feelings. It is impossible to please everyone and every decision a moderator makes is hated by one party, no matter how fair we're trying to be.
The only way for you to achieve your goals is to keep reporting. I don't mean reporting one post after another but report everything that may be breaking our rules. We don't ban people lightly but at some point, we will ban permanently.

All the time.
Some get deleted, some don't. Of course I don't know what's going on behind the scenes.
The thing is, this is supposed to be an informational forum. I thought at least. If someone is looking for info on a place, and someone comes in bashing the place, they'll get questioned on how much they really know it / if they've been. That's when all the fighting happens. If it happened every so often, fine. But it's over, and over, and over. And it's consistent.
Now, another of my posts got deleted today. I think she's trailing me and reporting all of my posts. I don't see what was wrong with the post anyway, and a bunch of bad ones are still in that thread (which is why I think she's trailing me.) I wrote that mod who did it to ask why my post was deleted.
The ignore feature here doesn't work well. It may cut out what they said, but you'll still see their user name all over the threads. Basically, it's only half-ignore.

I just tried to report one of the posts, and it gave me this:
AK123, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
Your account may be temporarily restricted.
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
Please note, it may take up to 24 hours for your account to be fully functional.
Is this what it does if you accidentally already reported the post?

No, the post is still there.
When I report the post, and click to send it in, then it gives me that message.

Oh! Well you got me there. Some technical error most likely.

There is a limit to how frequently members can report posts. It's not long, IIRC it's something like 1 report per 3 or 5 minutes. I imagine what you saw is the error message the board produces from reporting too frequently. It makes sense that it might also appear if you already reported the post.

When you report a post, your report gets transferred to another forum, where it will be reviewed by moderators. I think that what may have happened here is that if you try to report that same post for a 2nd time, the system thinks that you are trying to access that other forum and is telling you that you don't have permission to do so. There is nothing wrong with your account.

Thanks so much everyone -- I was just informed that the main problem poster has been dealt with, so problem solved. At least for now. Hopefully that forum should be much less disruptive in the coming days (big sigh of relief!)
As far as the technical problem I had with the post report feature, still don't know what that was. I'll just assume it was a post I had already reported, and maybe that's why I got the error message.
