i have removed myself from the contentious conversations in many of the Adoption Forums because I felt I had already said everything I needed to say.

However, Today is the 29th birthday of my oldest daughter. We have a tradition we started when she was about 4 or 5 years old. We look at the stars and we offer this prayer. This is from an e amil from my precious daughter who sent me some delicious pears for my birthday last week:

"love you! enjoy the pear for me! Beautiful weather outside. I feel very special today and have said our prayer for my biological mother, hoping she knows that she made the right decision."

What more could I want?

What a wonderful daughter! I hope she has a great birthday, and I hope that her biological mother is at peace with her decision, and understands what blessings have come from that decision.

Congrats , mom. Sounds like you did a wonderful job.

My own father was adopted (long story, but not a happy adotion and even sadder still, not a happy ending when he finally found his bio family) so I'm always happy when I read posts like yours....

What more could you want NK? Nothing. Nothing at all. You are blessed as is your daughter.
This brought tears to my eyes!

Beautiful mother, beautiful daughter, and a beautiful adoption story.

I love your tradition. I always thank God for the choice made by the wise and unselfish young girl who gave my daughter life, and went on with hers.

Happy birthday to your daughter. Your descriptions of your daughters remind Sheena and I of our own daughter.
