This just came to my attention. Notice the date: Oct 30, 2012.

Seems no one in America even noticed this one; but the Russian adoption ban....

And once again, the best interests of the children seem to be far down the list of governmental concerns.

I don't think many Americans adopted from Morocco. You had to be Muslim or convert in the presence of a judge or something like that in order to adopt.

Default Thank you for posting this!!

This news is very, very sad.

My husband is from Morocco and we didn't even hear about this, and he still keeps up with news from his country. If we ever get the chance to adopt we would have considered Morocco among other more popular choices. I thought we would have been an ideal couple of adoptive parents for them because of the cultural, national, ethnic and language connection (which doesn't seem to happen very often with international adoptions). I could imagine my husband bonding so well with a little son from his country (aww). Years ago I read an article that girls are highly favored for in-country adoptions, and that international adoptive parents could easily adopt two boys at once. Well not any more, I suppose. But we are still young so I hope those laws will change before we are too old to be parents.

I never knew that Morocco was a place with an international adoption program. Interesting.

Sad that it closed.
