No Kudzu's earlier post with the picture taken on the day she brought her new daughter home was the inspiration for this thread.

Do you have a celebration you'd like to share? Photos ..... funny stories ..... happy reunions ..... anything celebratory in nature.

I ask only that we keep this thread "happy," please!

I'm converting all the slides dad took over the years (2 dozen carousels plus) onto digital format. Mom wasn't interested in getting a DVD of them or in one of those electronic picture frame thingy - but now after my aunts son did it for them - mom is eagerly wanting the same and wants to know when I will be done. sigh - it takes time on the scanner to get them to the quality level I want...

I love doing it because I always enjoyed the slides, and dad was a wonderful photographer back in the day when you had to use the light meter and adjust things manually...

Edit...which also means I spend way more time on the computer being bored...

Our daughter turns one in a week and a half. This time a year ago, we had no idea we would have a baby in just a short time. We didn't even have a homestudy done, and were still contemplating what we wanted to do. I can hardly imagine my life without her now.

This past weekend, our daughter's other parents came over for a birthday celebration, and I loved that they got to see her eat her first piece of cake and see how much she loves their presents. I will say i could tell it was a bittersweet time for them, but I am grateful that we have remained close and they could be part of her celebration. A year later, and they feel like part of our family, too.

Tomorrow, we are headed to Florida to celebrate her first birthday at Disneyland, just like we celebrated our older daughter's first birthday at Disneyland. I am loving this "tradition."
