What a lovely story! I've never heard of Binti before, but I would have loved to have had something to have made the home study and referral paperwork easier. One thing that we adoptive parents learn real fast is, the adoption process is not like in those 1930's movies where you just walk into an orphanage, sign a form and hand over a check, and walk out with a new child!
