In many ways, international adoptions have become the only viable alternative for American families seeking to adopt infants and children ... in the face of 'Planned parenthood' and overwhelming lobbyist and media support of the abortion industry (along with ever-increasing government regulations).
I've known numerous families who have adopted children internationally, after repeatedly trying to overcome the enormous political obstacles that have become an integral part of the American adoption system. Meanwhile, an ever-growing number of children are aging-out of the foster care and adoption systems.
In another 20 years, we'll be inundated with images of suffering, starving orphans in Third World countries, and we'll be chastised because we weren't willing to adopt those poor children and bring them to America for a better life. The pendulum swings too far one way and then too far the other way, but it always seems as though we Americans are somehow at fault, no matter which way it swings.
