We have 4 very healthy and happy kids.......ages 2 (yesterday...happy birthday lily), 3 petie, 5 avery, 7 gavin....so we have boy girl boy girl....... We have always wanted to adopt, I just wanted to see when you think we should start the process.... I would always want to keep my oldest son the oldest child...after that then i would adopt anyone younger than him....the ? is when is the right age for my kids to iget ntroduced to a new sibling into the family...I also do not want to wait to long as that child could be waiting in child welfare while we decide...... just curious if anyone has adopted or knows of anyone who has and what they did or thought....I also wanted a older child as they are the hardest to adobt, as parents without kids always want baby's or very young children......

Your children are at an age where they are more accepting. I think it would be harder if your children were over 9 and feel threatened. Anytime you bring a child in your home, the process will be difficult and take time, but it will work. Talk to your children about bringing a child to your home and gauge how they feel. Volunteer at a homeless shelter with your oldest and let him see ways in which he could help a need child.

I want to adopt so bad, but I waited too long and must wait until my 16 year old is in college. Also, she has enough going on in her life personally that it's best for me to wait.

Good luck in such a noble task!
