In Cameroon, French is spoken in most of the nation, with English being spoken by a minority of the population. Other languages include Cameroonian Pidgin English, Camfranglais(a mix of English, French, and Cameroonian Pidgin English), and in addition to those languages, there are over 230 other languages spoken, mainly depending on which tribe speaks it. You would have to start by learning French. There is no one "Cameroonian language". Cameroon's borders were created under colonialism by German leaders who were part of the "Scramble for Africa" Germany once colonized Cameroon, and later France and the UK.

Learn French. There is no Cameroonian language. French is spoken just about everywhere in the country and is becoming more and more the mother tongue of the young generation.

Pretty much this. Majority will be French and then each region has their own tribal language. My 1 friend throughout University was Cameroonian. Good guy Can't quite remember how many languages he said he could speak but it was something like 4 or 5 but the main was always French Although I imagine it'll be slightly different to actual France French.

Like the folks above said, the majority of Cameroonians speak French. There are 8 French-speaking provinces and 2-english-speaking ones.

I'm from Cameroon, and am preparing a series of bilingual picture books with lots of details about culture, food, the people, etc...
