My daughter's roommate in college was from Africa, they became friends and correnspond regularly. The roommate said her life's ambition was to climb Mt. Kilamenjaro, so she invited my daughter to go with her. My daughter was too exhausted to reach the summit, but the roommate made it. I'm just interested in knowing who else here made it's summit?

Been there. Takes about a week to climb. Sometimes faster, sometimes slower. It isnt really a climb. More of a hike.

But it is the very high altitude that breaks a person down, unless their lungs are accustomed to high alititudes.
