I'm reading Alexander McCall Smith's novel; 'The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency' ,which takes place in Rowunda. So, I'm wonder how well that country is doing in comparison to other countries in Africa, as well as their stability and politics?

There is plenty of information in Wikipedia, the modern spelling is Rwanda. As a Belgian colony, it was joined with the modern country of Burundi as the colony of Ruanda-Urundi.

Basically, it is an extremely densely populated country, nearly all the population living in rural areas and engaged in farming small plots of land. Traveling through Rwanda, even in the most remote area, one is always in sight of people moving about on roads or pathways.

Politically, it has the potential be be extremely stable, since its national boundaries have been there since pre-colonial times and reflect the actual boundary of the Rwandan people. However, the population developed a two-class system, which has resulted in recent genocides. It is disputed whether the two peoples are racially distinct, or were simply aligned according to wealth for the convenience of the Belgians, but matters escalated over several decades, resulting in the massacre of nearly a million Rwandans in 1994.

It should have been 'Botswana'.

Yikes!

That's one heck of a mistake.

Take for example what that poster said of Rwanda's high population density and how its impossible to go anywhere without seeing people, Botswana is the complete opposite of that. lol

Vinylly, you spelled your location wrong. The correct spelling is Capitol Hill (both for the neighborhood in Washington DC, and the other one in Seattle WA). "Capitol" means a legislative building, and "Capital" means an entire city.

Rwanda I think, has the highest percentage of Women in its legislature (parliament) of any country in the world. Because so many of its men were killed during the tribal genocide.

Either Rwanda or Burundi (one of those nations ?) also just recently changed its official language from French to English. (I read this in the New York Times online). This will make it easier to communicate with neighboring Uganda and Tanzania.

Admittedly I am a horrible speller. In spite of that I would highly recommend reading Alexander McCall Smiths book. Quite humerous, not like any detective novels you will ever read.
