Why is it OK for men to travel abroad to look for romance (or a spouse), but not for women to do the same? Why is it OK for Russian women to seek spouses abroad, but not British?
I think it's OK for either, though I would point out there have been many negative news stories about western men getting mail order brides from third world countries so some people don't think it is OK, especially feminists who think these men are exploiting the women.
If these women are having a good time, more power to them. You only live once. Just go into it their eyes open.

It's perfectly OK, as long as their intentions are honorable and no one is getting scammed. Some find the real thing others find fool's gold. It's a chance no matter what and with a 50 percent divorce rate in the states, things are hardly perfect. And ya don't think there are gold diggers/scammers right here at home?

She was just a dummy of the highest order. I don't see why some woman think they are so special that the rules of nature don't apply to them. One has to wonder how a 40+ woman with a child marrying some 20 year old 3rd world foreigner ever thought this was going to end well. Little disingenuous here. The Russian women are leveraging their youth, beauty and fertility to land comparatively wealthier foreign men. In this situation everyone is playing their respective biological roles.
The British women are generally older, fatter and probably post menopausal seeking out younger men. This setup is against normal mating patterns and is far more exploitive IMHO.
As a footnote, a friend of my mother , ill in rolling chair, who was living in Lamu (Kenya) with a local -not a young guy , he was maybe 50 and she close to 70-was abducted by Somali terrorists who made a home invasion-Somalia is at close range from Lamu-and then they let her die because she hadn't her life saving medicine with her. So yes, Africa still is a risky destination, ladies, beware!

The negative stories are what you most often here about in the media. A story of a guy that married a woman from another country, has been married many years and happy, just isn't news. Anyway, good luck to them.
And you can get used and scammed in your own backyard, EdwardA. Lots of divorces to prove that.
