BBC News - UK regrets The Gambia's withdrawal from Commonwealth

The Gambia decided to leave the Commonwealth of Nations. Seems like a symbolic move by the President of Gambia, Yahya Jammeh. His regime and the British have had some bumps and grinds in the past.

So you support a guy described as clinically insane and believes homosexuals are the greatest threat to world peace? Oh and that aids can be cured by bananas.

He is just another incompetent African leader.

1. Who said they supported him?

2 Since his warning five years ago that gays would be beheaded, how many have been?

3. Wasn't George W Bush also "described as clinically insane"? And didn't he also attribute administrative postures to God's will?

4. Got a link to clinical testing that proves the impossibility of herbal cures for Aids or infertility?

5. If your comment is based on a different source from the sidebar in the cited link, what is it?

I didnt claim in the post I supported Yahya Jammeh. I was posting on this current event which is of symbolic significance; it is a political move for him to leave this Intergovernmental Organization.

But the way Jammeh decides to run his country is ultimately his business, and he can do what is in his power to keep control and influence.

If your opinion of him is that he is incompetent, then so be it; but he's been in power since 1994. Incompetence does not last that long.

Also, keep in mind I posted an article from th BBC. They have an incentive to paint this man in a bad light. I'm not saying the man is good, im saying bias exist in media, and the BBC emphasizes his bad deeds over his good deeds.

Other African leaders who have a close relationship with the British would say the same thing about gays, but you are less likely to see their view chastized in a British news article.

Why suddenly he's incompetent,do europeans care about african countries and their "incompetent" leaders, europeans are the one who put in place incompetent leaders in Africa so they can fool them.
Who are the competent african leaders in the eyes of europeans ? there are none, every leader in Africa is incompetent in the eyes of europeans, the famous Sarkozy speech in Dakar is another evidence of that.

Everybody has a right to his opinion, the opinion of european is not necessairly valid in Africa, african have their own culture, history and beliefs.
