My preteen son is traveling to Morocco next week with friends. For most of their stay they will have a riad in Marrakech but they are also spending a couple of days in the desert. The weather forecast calls for warm days and cool nights for which usually he wears shorts, but I've read that shorts are generally frowned upon by locals. I appreciate any guidance on what to pack for him. He is twelve.

Don't believe anything you hear about , this is not true , Morocco is not that bad and many residents wear shorts even some women , also there is a large number of europeans especially french come tom Morocco every year and wear whatever they like ;so you don't have to worry about your son .

Your son travels with his own friends or your friends?
I only wear shorts at the beach but a country where shorts are frowned upon i would just not visit.
