Curious to learn more about African cities with growing Chinese populations. I know Chinese investment is quite pervasive on the continent, and obviously immigrants have followed for economic and development purposes. I've also heard of some areas with Chinese enclaves that almost shutter themselves from the rest of society and African community. It's not that I'd want to live in that kind of environment, but I'm curious to hear more about that specifically if anyone has experience.
So 1) where would you generally say is a good big city for a Chinese westerner?
2) what more can you add about growing Chinese enclaves in Africa?
Chinese, Americans, and Europeans are all over Africa. There is not one specific area people are moving to. If you are not wanting to develop a country, invest in the people (give them jobs and or part ownership), and or if you aren't willing to understand and adapt to the culture well there will be issues. Most Chinese "enclaves" are in Madagascar, Mauritius, and South Africa I would even say Seychelles and Morocco.
