I just returned from Uganda last week after a month trip there. I never felt I was ever in danger and this incident will not deter me from travelling to Uganda again. No one needs armed guards in Uganda. Why use a guide from DRC? I have no doubt the guide is involved.

There's a significant UN presence in Uganda but, they are absolutely useless and will do nothing until after the event is over. UN is just a bunch of thieves at so many levels.

I wish you the very best of good fortune in your future visits, Garry. But, I believe this current situation (happy ending and all) will still make many gun-shy. The fact that it occurred is substantial in itself. Just glad Kimberly as safe.
