Yea for Ohio!!!
Well I love that you loved it! Yeah, people really do think there's nothing to do here. But honestly, I really have no desire to live anywhere else. We have all four seasons (although Summer doesn't stay around quite as long as I would like), we've got hills so it's not completely flat, & there's tons to do. I love being here!

You are right. There is drab and there is drab. California has no pull for me, although the Pacific Coast Highway is the nation's most beautiful place, I think.
There is nothing wrong with Ohio and I loved the time I lived there...good schools, safe environment, a great place to raise my kids.
Now I'm an empty nester, and I've "been there, done that" in Ohio, and it was time for me to move on. But that does not take away fom Ohio. It's a great place to live, if you have a job.

You live near Dayton and you think California is overrated? That's like driving a Corvette (or a Buick) and claiming that Ferrari is overrated. California has a beautiful coastline, Yosemite, Red Wood, SoCal has the best weather in the country, not to mention the entire state has an infinite supply of things to do compared to Ohio. I grew up in NE Ohio, who are you kidding

I don't think he was comparing Cali to Ohio, just stating that Californians think the rest of the country is drab, which you just proved..............

Really? Could you please point out where I said I lived in California? If you can't, we're too assume that you make things up for the sake of argument.

A lot of it is in your perspective. I.E. North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, etc. don't have much of an attraction for me but may for others.

We could go the other direction and point out that California has an overabundance of wildfires, earthquakes, drought, pollution, it's extremely expensive, and some areas have unemployment over 20%. By comparison, Ohio has none/less of all of those things.

It also has the Great Lakes (Erie, of course), Cedar Point, 4 seasons of weather, skiing, some of the best museums/orchestras/etc in the country, Amish Country, etc.

Again, it's all in your perspective.

...OH doesn't have Barbara Boxer or Dianne Feinstein, or Jerry Brown...but they do have Kucinich...

Ohio doesn't have 20 million illegal immigrants sucking the state dry, either.
