Default Anyone live in Chagrin Falls and commute to Akron? What is the commute like?

Hello, quick question--is the commute from Chagrin Falls to Akron do-able? I noticed on this forum people mention it as a good option for those relocating to the area but mapquest has it as 35 miles from Akron. If you commute from this area what is your experience? Thanks so much! PS: the other areas we are looking at are Hudson, Solon and Richfield (and the commute would be to Akron).

Ehhhhhh.... i wouldn't want to do it. On one hand the traffic won't be as heavy going south in the morning as north, but still, Rt 8 can be a mess. On top of that depending on how much street driving you have to do (and where in Akron the job is), there's a good variance in how long your commute could be. I would factor at a minimum 45 minutes, but probably closer to an hour (depending),

The closer the better, I'd do Hudson or Richfield.

If you like Chagrin Falls and work in Akron, it all depends on where in Akron you are going and the traffic in the morning.
It won't be easy, it will be about 1 hour in the winter, easy. 271 S is not too bad, but will certainly have some congestion and they don't always have the ability to clear out the snow fast enough due to where it is in the snow belt and snow falling rapidly-constantly.

I would choose Copley/Fairlawn/Bath Township before I'd go any further NE into the snow belt.
