Below are the Performance Index scores (rounded to tenths place) for those Stark County districts that scored at least 100. Of course, test scores are only one measure of a district's overall effectiveness. There are certainly other factors that should be considered when determining what is a good fit for your family.

Jackson - 108.3 (ranked 19th out of 612 districts in Ohio)
Lake - 107.2 (32nd)
North Canton - 105.6 (73rd)
Louisville - 103.7 (110th)
Tuslaw - 102.3 (155th)
Perry - 102.1 (163rd)
Plain - 101.9 (172nd)
Osnaburg - 101.9 (174th)
Marlington - 101.4 (194th)
Northwest - 100.4 (238th)

When I was growing up in Stark County, my aunt and uncle had a house on a canal at Lake Cable. My cousins and I had a great time boating on the lake. What are the conditions there now?

Full-on suburban. But it's a nice place. Good schools, pretty safe. Really close to the Belden Village sprawl, whatever your preference is on those sorts of things.

You'll find that Canton itself is rather dirty and run down in many areas, but most of the suburbs are nice, and, Canton has a rather large and relatively nice suburban sprawl for a city its size, especially towards the north, where you start comingling with Akron's suburbs.
