Afternoon!

Heading to Downtown Canton for the first time for First Friday in November. Wondering if some folks can share favorite restaurants, bars to visit. We'll be staying at the McKinley Grand Hotel.

Cheers,
Joe

Wish I could help, but I was never that familiar with Canton, even when I lived in the area. (we were always a Massillon-oriented family) And, now that I've been gone for the last 12 years, I'm totally out of touch.

Downtowncanton.com would be the best place to check. Benders is an institution, same with Desert Inn. Sparta and Arcadia are good as well. They have improved Downtown Canton's appearance quite a bit but it is still not quite as far along on the renewal curve compared to some of the larger cities. They made a large mistake back when manufacturing was still in swing by not funding a University downtown hence they don't have that catalyst there.

Like Square said, there isn't a lot of 'great' options downtown. I'd concur w/Benders, nice restaurant to check out. Another place to consider if you like casual-coffeeshop type atmosphere is Muggswigz, neat place on OH-43/Cherry Ave. downtown.
