Question Akron area???? NEED HELP

I am considering moving to the Akron area. I would be getting a job around the 1000 block of Buchholzer Boulevard, First of all is this a nice area that is low in crime? (I have never been to ohio) Next i want to find an apartment that would cost around $700 a 1 bedroom and these are all the things im looking for in a neighborhood oh and i am 24 and single
1. Low crime
2. LOTS of things to do outside and entertainment
3. Shops
4. NIGHT LIFE!!!
5. Places to meet people since i will be by my self
6. A larger population but not overwhelming I currently live in a place that is 67,000 so even 100,000 would be a big change
7. A place that seems small town but has lots of activities to do would be great.
8. clean looking
I was looking at kent , Tallmadge ?
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE SOOOO HELPFULL , Thanks alot

Cuyahoga Falls for sure.... They have rockin on the river plus italian festival as well as many other festivals and bands every weekend. Lots of apartments and houses, near chapel hill which is where you'll be working. Low crime, nice people. In between Cleveland and Canton for other options!!!

There is no nightlife in "downtown" Cuyahoga Falls, if you can even call it that. That being said, I use to live in the falls right off Munroe Falls Ave. It's a safe area.

The nightlife will be in downtown Akron, or in the Valley in Akron. Both are about 8-10 min away.

For somebody your age I would look into Highland Square or the Valley. These neighborhoods have a decent amount of singles and local bars. Highland Square is pedestrian friendly and like an urban village, while the Valley is more suburban style. Personally I find Highland Square to be much more interesting and also like the fact that it is only 5 minutes from downtown (where Akron's best nightlife area is).

FYI:

Highland Square is centered around Market Street from Portage Path to Merriman Road. The Valley is centered around the intersection of Potage Path/Portage Trail and Merriman Road.

Both area's are safe, but Highland Square does border on some shady areas to the southeast. Stay northeast of Crosby and Exchange. North of Market is perfectly safe.

I think it's funny many people don't seem to check the dates of threads when they reply.

This thread was started almost 2 years ago. I hope she/hefound an apartment by now!
