To the OP I would also recommend Highland Square. You might also want to check out Cuyahoga Falls, it is a nice area with great schools.

I wouldn't recommend Stow, but I would suggest living in the town of Kent. Kent is a very liberal town (mostly due to the university), has nice neighborhoods, and good schools.
