Default Public transportation to Kent

I need to get from either the Akron or Cleveland airport to Kent via public transportation. Train, bus, shuttle, shared van? Anything cheaper than a taxi?

Buses leave the Cleveland Hopkins Int'l regularly. Im sure Akron Fulton Int'l or Akron/Canton Regional has the same. But i would check with Cleveland first.

I'm pretty sure this is after-the-fact but...

Check into PARTA (protage area regional transportation authority)... they now control the Kent State University busline which ALWAYS had runs between both the airports and campus. Might want to double check though if it's during the university's winter or spring breaks! Here's the page:

Default Here's what you do...

Take the RTA Red Line rapid transit from the Hopkins Airport terminal to Tower City/Public Square. From Public Square, take the Portage Area Regional Transit Authority bus direct to Kent State University's student center. There are two buses daily (except one bus on Sundays and no Saturday service). See the schedule below before traveling (Public Square departure location may change due to construction)....

HI! I graduated from Kent State in 1978 & knew then that they had a Kent State bus which operates from the campus to downtown Cleveland & to Akron. So now, by son is a freshman there & he is able to take the bus from campus to Public Square in Cleveland, where he then catches the rapid transit trains to the airport! The charge is just $5 one way! Check out the schedule: www.partaonline.org Click on the college buses, then the Cleveland shuttle. Buses operate on the academic year, so be sure to check the calendar on the website to be sure they run. Service is 1 am trip & 1 pm trip Mon-Fri, with only 1 trip on Sundays. None on Saturday. Hope this helps! I just now found this website, and I realize you posted this awhile ago.
