Akron Police Department (Brimfield: buying, living, floor)

Has anyone heard anything about the Akron Police Department?? I heard that the Summit County Sherriffs department is taking over. Does anyone know why?

I have heard this to...I guess there will be a big meeting coming up between the two...the Sheriff's dept. can not handle Akron though..

I completely read it wrong after all... it turns out that the City and the County will be working together. I don't totally agree with it, still. I guess I am glad that I moved from the City and the County.

Darn! I thought you said Just GOT rid of the mayor, & I was so happy, until I read it right. LOL I will be happy when he is gone. I'd like to hope the city residents will be smart enough to read about a candidate, & educate themselves, instead of of voting on party lines, but I doubt it. &, my Mom & Dad, & alot of my Mom's family & all of my friends live in Akron, & many of them are just as bad! LOL I don't care what party it is, just know who you are voting for. Maybe the next one will be a good one???

It could be worse you could be living just outside of Akron in Brimfield!!! My BF lives there and the crap those village idiots pull is amazing! According to everyone you talk to, this woman who is older than dirt is running the village offices. She is the only one who decides if you get to talk to someone about your property, issues ect.. she just says NO and hangs up the phone! Someone was buying a friends property and went into the office and she said "You don't want to buy that property, it's crap" well they backed out of the deal!! He lost big $$$. He ended up suing the village and won! From what we have been able to piece together... the old farmers are pissed off at the kids/grandkids of their friends selling off the farm land for big bucks. They don't want progress or people moving in. So they do their best to keep you from it. My BF bought 10 acres with the assumption he would be building his shop on the property. Well the week he signed the papers they ruled that you can't build a building over so many sq ft with a floor in it. So he can build the building just can't have a floor in it. This old bat refuses to let him talk to anyone about a grandfather clause. So now he owns 10 acres and can't use it!
Apparently everyone is just waiting for this old woman to croak so Brimfield can jump into this century. LOL

I did see this thing on police on the news. They are combining some things to cut costs. Akron police are generaly great to work with though.
