Canton (Waynes County, OH) Help Needed
Hello All,
I am relocating from Southern Cali to Wayne's County and need to be within 20 minutes from Kidron and I am unable to find House Rentals or Apts. that are within that distance, I've exhausted everything I can on the Internet, can anyone give some help or advice on Wayne County?
The optimal areas I would like to rent a home would be:
Orrville, Kidron, Dalton or Apple Creek, Missillon, Wooster.
Thank you all so much

Thank you NEmommy, I am getting discouraged...but it appears I will have to fly out there, the job I am being offered is too good to pass up, but if I live in Canton it is 30 minutes from the Airport and I need to be within 15-20 minutes of call out during duty time.
Would you mind telling me a little bit about the area? I read that it is super slow out there and I will be bringing my wife and kids, so the slow paced life style is right up my alley, I can't stand the fast lane much and I'm sure there is nowhere near the traffic that is here in Orange County. Over all I am excited, but a little discouraged as I can't find anything on line
Thank you so much for your help

I am in Cleveland and Canton is some 50-60 miles south of us, not aroud a corner, really. It is slow, and has lost some jobs recently, there is a new mayor promising to improve the city, bringing in new "upscale" housing and shopping. There is Pro Football Hall of Fame, and if you look at stats, city has lost some population lately(city-data.com/city/canton-ohio), mostly due to economy I think. Be sure to visit first before making a move, as it will be very different from CA here in general, also look at greatschools.net for their school system and how they rank compared to other in the area.

One more thing, try cantonrep.com, I believe it's the newspaper, or google canton news or wkyc.com(cleveland news) and maybe get an updated look at happenings, weather, and so on.

Here is the "homes" (for sale or rent) page from the Canton Repository online classified section. Homes
Many are in Canton, but some are in western Stark County--Massillon, Navarre, etc.
Here is a link to The Daily Record's classified page. (Wooster)
TheDailyRecord.com | Classifieds
I don't know if these will help.
I grew up in the Massillon/Canton area, but had relatives who lived in your area of interest. It is a great area--very down to earth. The biggest traffic problem you're likely to notice are the slow Amish buggies.
Have you seen this thread? http://www.city-data.com/forum/ohio/...ille-ohio.html
It doesn't help with your home search, but there are lots of pictures of the area.
--edit--
I'd like to add that you should probably ask about the area in the general Ohio forum, and not in the Cleveland forum.

Thank you so much JR_C! I will follow up with these leads...I saw the pics from the other thread, and believe me, that area looks very quiet, haha, will be a nice change for me and my family!
Have a great day!

For crying out loud PLEASE don't move to CANTON! North or not it's a c---hole.
Orrville has many low-budget possibilities...but also high dollar stuff $750+ I have a friend that owns several townhouses in Dalton...they're probably all occupied now, but when the weather breaks people tend to move. They're VERY nice and close to Kidron.
Since I know EVERYTHING there's to know about Wayne (not Wayne's) County...ASK
and I'll steer you in the right direction.
P.S. DON'T use a realtor tolocate housing in Wayne County (I know all of them)
Lemme guess your job, Lehman Hdwe.?

I am unable to move to Canton, I must be close to Kidron...15-20 minutes from the Airport. Not a Lehman, a Pilot. I would prefer a home to rent that is reasonable, and I'm not quite sure if heating for homes in "WAYNE" County is natural gas or oil.
Any help you can lend is surely appreciate.
Thanks friend.
