Default Need Help in the Cuyahoga/Akron area

Hello,
I am going to be moving to Ohio in Aug. and have been searching through different sites for houses to rent, with limited results. I am not to familar with the Akron areas or schools. I would greatly appreciate any info that would help me find a house in the Cuyahoga/Monroe falls, Portage/Silver lakes, Stow or Tallmadge areas. I am looking something with at least 3 bedrooms, 4 would be really nice. Info to links or if anyone knows of a house available please let me know. Thanks

ALTHOUGH I LIVE IN ARIZONA NOW (NEAR SEDONA), I GREW UP IN CUYAHOGA FALLS - MOVED TO L.A. - AND THEN BACK TO THE FALLS SO MY DAUGHTER COULD GROW UP THERE. IT IS SUCH A SAFE, QUIET BEDROOM COMMUNITY WITH WONDERFUL NEIGHBORS. NOT ALOT OF RENTALS, BUT GREAT DEALS ON BUYING A HOME. YOU CAN SEE RENTALS AT WWW.OHIO.COM (AKRON BEACON JOURNAL NEWSPAPER). THE OTHER AREAS ARE MORE RURAL IN NATURE AND PRICIER. GIVE ME MORE INFO AS TO WHERE YOU WILL BE WORKING, ARE SCHOOLS IMPORTANT, ETC. AND I'LL FILL YOU IN WITH ADDITIONAL INFO............................................

Thanks so much for your input. The few times I have been there I really enjoyed it and the area seems to be nice. Schools are important I have three kids 13, 8 and 6. Being in my late 30's (lord I hate saying that haha) decided to go back to college and have recently graduated from nursing school, so I plan to apply at hospitals or Specialties in the area, thats kinda still open But I really want to be moved before school starts so the move is easier for the kids.

Out of all of those areas, I would choose Cuyahoga Falls.
Really nice especially around Broad Blvd. From what I understand, the area around Prange is not too great.
But other than that...I hear they have great schools (I've lived in Akron for 10 years now and I have no children but everyone I've known who lives in the Falls raves about the schools and the Police Department.
You might want to check the Akron/Canton section of Craigslist.com to see if there are any homes for rent (they usually include the Falls).
As far as renting a home...eee I would say between $650 at the absolute, absolute lowest (and that might be more of an Akron low) and on up.
Lots of shopping on and around Howe Ave. including Chapel Hill Mall (Chapel Hill Mall - 330.633.1131 - 330.633.1131) which is your typical mall actually in the Akron limits, and big box retailers such as Target, BestBuy and Home Depot. Multiple sit down and fast food restaurants as well. This is CuyFalls' site - you'll notice that they have a lot of things going for the family especially down near the riverfront on Broad City of Cuyahoga Falls :: Official Website
I always say that if I ever moved from downtown Akron, Cuyahoga Falls is the only other city I would want to live in in this area.

My second pick would be Stow, which is basically right next door to CuyFalls towards the north.Although I don't know anything about the schools, its a nice area.
If you like more of a country feel, with more land, choose Tallmadge. Its a safe and well taken care of community. I like the city, so for me, Tallmadge wouldnt be on my list.

As for nursing....there are several hospitals in the area. Summa is pretty big here Summa Health System. They have hospital branches in downtown Akron & CuyFalls that I am aware of. There is also Akron General Best Ohio Hospital | Akron Doctors | Best Ohio Healthcare - Akron General Medical Center which is in downtown Akron. Another big one is Akron Childrens Hospital, also in downtown Akron https://www.akronchildrens.org/.

Hope all of this has helped a bit and it wasn't too overwhelming. I hope the links work as well. If you need any other help, just let me know.
~D~

Thank you for all the info and links =) They are the areas that I will choose from. Its good to hear that they are all good districts for schools. When I looked everything up Cuyahoga falls seemed to be a great choice and Stow just like you said. I'm still looking it seems there is limited houses to rent in these areas ....sighs hopefully something will pop up soon. Thanks again!

Any of the towns you mentioned are good communities with good school systems. Go online to the Akron Beacon Journal on Saturday, when they have their real estate section. Also go to the Stow Sentry newspaper. Its parent paper has other additions for surrounding towns also.
