Question Why is the city of Green putting in a roundabout!?!?

I lived in Green my whole life & moved to SC in August of 08. When I went home for Christmas, my mom told me that they were putting in a roundabout! You know... like the circle in Tallmadge!? Now... here's the link to the article....
Akron Ohio News - Green roundabout one year away

It says it won't be like the Tallmadge Circle... yeah that's because Tallmadge has a purpose for the circle since there are many roads coming off of it, where Steese & Massillon have... 3! It just bothers me. I think Green is trying to make itself stand out more than it already does. I love Green & plan on moving back on day. But a circle? Really? What are your thoughts??

Roundabouts have been constructed in the Indianapolis area for several years now, mostly in the suburban areas. They are much better than four-way stops.

Hmm... I'll go with you here. But they have to take out other things surrounding the area too. They had to make a pond relocation committee to move the little pond that sits near the road! I don't really think that was a necessity. Just seems silly.

round abouts or traffic circles would be great if people would drive the posted speed limit but they dont,
when ever I am in the tallmadge area I make it a point to do 2 or 3 laps around the circle at the posted spped and wow traffic starts moving, the only problem is the cars wanting out are to stunned to move looking at a car not trying to race around the circle

Well, here's the link for what City-Data has to say about Green: http://www.city-data.com/city/Green-Ohio.html
& pay NO attention to all those pics of cows & farm at the top of the page! I thin there's only 1 farm in green with cows still. & most of the farms have been bought out & turned into shopping centers or houses. Population in 2007 was 23,447. I have to tell you, I moved to SC from Green in August & I'm dying to go back! I always wanted to go explore the world, but I never knew just how much I'd miss it! I will move back to Green within a few years & live there forever! Well, is it the Timken in Canton? There is one that's right on the boarder of Jackson & Green. From Canton, maybe 20 minutes at the most. Akron is about 7 minutes North of Green on the highway, & Belden (the big shopping area) is about 7 minutes South of Green. It's on the way to Canton.

They actually just built a new preschool in Green Called the Goddard School. I had a friend who worked there & said that she just loved working there. Also, my friend & her husband toured it just last week b/c they want to send their 6 month old & 2 year old there. My friend said that everyone who works there has their degree in childhood/education. Now, I don't believe that b/c my friend who worked there was only in her 1st year of college.... however... it is a very good daycare. As far as prices, that I don't know. She might have said $400 a week, but I don't know if that's for one or two kids. Here's a list through just a google search:

The American way will be to make it a gradual process. Semi's and F-350's first.

You know the Indianapolis area contains 8% of the total roundabouts in the United States? Roundabouts are amazing!
