moving to canton (unfortunately) please help
Hello all,
I am forced to move to canton because I am doing a one year internship at Aultman hospital. I'm looking to rent an apartment for the year. Ideally, I would like it to be 10-15 min to the hospital, or maybe even closer, and also in an area where theres some bars/clubs. I know Canton isnt the best place for singles but there has to be somewhere to go out right?? I was thinking living around the belden village area. Any thoughts??

I can't help with your specific question, but maybe you should try to have a better attitude? What incentive is there to help, if you're going to be unhappy anyway?

Well your right about nothing to do here. But if you get a place around the strip or like you said the Belden Village area, thats your closest bet. Anything much closer to Aultman in the S.W. is dangerous. My suggestion is to live in Perry Township which is about 10-15 minutes away from downtown Canton. Hope you enjoy it somewhat.

I think your best bet would be around the Belden Village area, there are a lot of nice apartments around there and you can get to the highway easily. Also check out apartments in the Jackson area, it is a very nice area and not far from Aultman. Besides from Perry Township and Jackson you could check out some places in Plain Township or Canton. There are some nice apartments in Canton, but just not downtown Canton. Belden Village is really the only place to go out around that area or Akron, but that is about 25 minutes from Jackson. It wont be bad moving here, everyone is friendly and you will meet lots of people at the hospital. There are a lot of younger people working there. Good luck!

These are all good recommendations, I would also look at North Canton as there are some pretty nice complexes in that area, and if you stay west of Cleveland Ave. (Main St.), you'll have relatively easy access to I-77. While most areas right around Aultman aren't the greatest, there are some areas closer to Malone College that have some nice rentals as well. But I would say you're best bets are N. Canton or Jackson Twp. Canton's not the greatest, but Belden Village is pretty nice for a young single person, hope your experience turns out better than your expectations.
