I can't say much for the Toledo area but every Sunday night in downtown Akron there is a show put on by a group called 330 Tuning. It's called Superfly Sunday and it starts around 6pm-7pm in the Spaghetti Warehouse parking lot. All makes and models are welcome - sporty/sport compact cars specifically - no trucks or bikes. Anything from Civics and VWs to Corvettes to Porsches and everything in between. Anyone can come as long as they don't act like fools. I have a Civic and used to be a member and would go all the time, but lately have not (long story). My ex-bf runs it, basically.
So, if you are in the Akron area during that time, I'd suggest just going down to check it out. It's just a car show, but it was fun for the several years that I was a part of it and I still hear there is quite a turnout.
