@Square - cute house! That is one I had yet to come across. And, actually, I would prefer more than anything to spend in the $80K-$90K range. I've been looking around and anything lower than the $75K mark can get you a nice dump lol
I have a list of places that I know I don't want to live - its just that my list of places that Im actually interested in is small (Highland Square, Firestone Park and Portage Lakes). My problem is that I want a 2 car garage and I'm finding that alot of the houses in HS and Firestone Park have 1 car garages. I pretty much refuse to buy a house with anything less than a 2 car. I really dont want to have to build one either - too much $$. I'll have to do a drive-by on Beck (not literally lol) and check out the houses. I never go back that way because I have no reason but I'll have to check it out.

@htlong - Wow you found a house like that in that price range that was a remod in PL? Awesome! I was just over on Portage Point Blvd this past weekend. A co-worker of the bf lives on that street.

@Moving2Akron - You are very welcome Good luck with everything and just let us know if you have any more questions!

jacjolantern is on a distinguished road
Don't move to Akron- it's a ghetto- and the punks/gangsta's are getting so bad you can't even go to the fireworks without getting assualted and almost killed- I lived there for 3 years and heard nothing but shots fired all night long- including a few right near my house.

Move to Stow or Hudson- they are much safer and nicer areas- you couldn't pay me to live in akron
or "crackron" as they call it.

Hudson contains a bunch of boring yuppies who think they're something. Stow isn't that exciting.

And where in Akron were you living that you were hearing shots fired every night? All of Akron is not the hood. Maybe you just lived in the section that was.
As far as the Firestone Park incident after the fireworks...maybe that was instigated?
