Lol, well, the newest you will find will be the ones we already spoke of (I believe Northside Lofts are actually renting out their condos because they can't get people to buy them) but that is going to be expensive nonetheless.
Next to new would be some of the standard apartment complexes in Fairlawn/Copley area but this doesnt put you in the middle of everything (and a good 10-15 minutes from downtown Akron) - it just puts you in boring, suburban Fairlawn. I actually have this joke running that Fairlawn has a 9pm curfew on any given night lol. If it was my choice, I would choose something like the second one below because atleast its super close to restaurants, freeways, people and a lot of traffic to watch from your balcony if you ever get bored lol

There really are no 'new' options in the downtown Akron area other than NSL and Spicer V.
There are 3 highrises in Highland Square (about the most eclectic/artsy area you can get around here), which is 5 minutes or so from 'downtown'. Other than those 3, you're looking at brick buildings built in the late '20s, rich with architecture - prices will range from as low as $400 for a studio/efficiency all thee way up to $700 for a 3 bedroom.
~Highland Towers start around $635 for a 1 BR

~The Highland Square is probably around the $600 mark to start

~Tower 80 is the nicest and I think 1 BRs start at $635
